Today is a special day – today is the birthday of Damaris Baya!

Dama is one of my Compassion children – one of the needy children God called me to sponsor a year and a half ago. She is a beautiful little girl in Kenya, who I love, even though I’ve never met her. Art and running are her favorite activities, and she also sings in the church choir! She is one of 8 children, and her parents struggle to care for her – usually making less than $20 a month for their entire family of 10 to live off of.

Dama lives in a country that is infected by HIV/AIDS. Though we are not told as sponsors if our child has AIDS, we are told that the likelihood of she or another family member having it is high.

Today, this beautiful little girl turns 7. I can’t think of anything better, or more priceless to give her than PRAYER! Will you please join me today in praying for Dama? Just a quick prayer when you read this would be such a blessing – I know if we all pray it will reach across the world to Africa and will impact her life in a powerful way!

Please pray with me that:

  • God will protect Dama from sickness, abuse, injury, and death.
  • God will protect her family
  • God will call her parents to Him, so that she can grow up in a Christian home
  • God will reveal more of Himself to Dama, so that she will accept Him as her Lord and Savior
  • God will place His hand on Dama, so that she will grow into the woman of God He has planned for her, and that she will continue to reach for her dreams!

Thank you for praying with me! Prayer is one of the best gifts anyone can give.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAMA!

  1. Hey Girl! I don’t know if you know this or not but your sweet Dama was born on your Great-Grandmother Hicks’ birthday. Maybe you knew that already but I thought I would share it with you in case you didn’t. We miss Grandmother Hicks as we celebrated her “Homegoing” this past January but what a way to remember her on her birthday … to pray that this precious one, as well as her family, will come to know Him! God Bless and much love! Aunt Tammy
