Sleepover!

Tonight I’m having a “sleepover” of sorts, and I’ve never been more excited! Tonight, Tom, Chris and I are staying the night at our main orphanage. We have such a short time with these children and we really want to build relationships with them and pour into them. The guys have been spending a lot of time with the boys here, and decided to come back again tonight. So, when the house Mom and Dad (who run the orphanage) invited me to stay the night too I said YES!

I’ll get to really experience life here as the children live everyday – eating with them, studying, praying, and sleeping. The home is very small and I’m so blessed that they are making room for one more for a night! I fall in love with these children more and more everyday!

As I write this, I have 2 precious little boys on my lap – Shanu and Saket, and 2 more at my side “helping” – Shibu and Vikas. They are all pointing to my picture on the screen saying “Ericka Auntie”, which is what they call me. Sweet babies! They are singing “One little, two little, three little Indians” as I type (I promise to get that on video for you all before I come home!) It is too cute!

It’s quite a challenge typing this way, they have deleted the blog and even shut down the whole computer once trying to “help” – ha! But I would have it no other way!

Vikas is now reciting his memory verse to me:

“I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me.” Psalm 31:6

It thrills my heart to hear these children sing and pray and recite scripture – truth is poured into their lives here and they truly love the Lord with all their hearts! God is present here in such a tangible way! His presence is so powerful in this house and in these children!

Pray for me as I spend tonight and tomorrow here – I am trying to profile all the children and get recent pictures of them so we can find each of them sponsors. And of course while I am here it is my heart to pour into the amazing staff who have given their lives to these children, and to love these sweet little ones. I can’t tell you how happy my heart is right now to be able to pick them up and hold them and hug and kiss them!

I will try later tonight to post some more videos and pictures if I have time. For now, we continue to crave your prayers! And thank you for all your sweet comments – it is so encouraging to my heart to hear from you!
