Feedback please?

HELLO BLOG READERS!

Today’s post is all for you. It’s not a story, or an update, it’s merely a question:

What would you like to see more of (or less of) on my blog?

I’ve been thinking a lot about my blog lately, and realizing how much less I’ve been using it this year (versus my first two years at AIM). I know blogs can be POWERFUL things. So many stories I’ve read on friends’ blogs have moved me, challenged me, and inspired me. Reading blogs is a big part of why Rusty went on the World Race (and WOW has his life been changed by it!!!) Knowing all this, I want to focus more on using my blog as a part of my ministry.

So, I wanted to ask you a few questions about blog content (since you are the ones reading it, after all!) Any feedback you can give would really bless me as I more forward!

Here we go….

1- Would you like to see more stories from the field?
(Inspiring and moving stories from friends and colleagues overseas)

2- Would you like more vulnerability?
(stories about my struggles, thoughts, challenges, or what God is teaching me)

3- Would you like more information about opportunities to GIVE?
(to specific needs around the world through AIM, or through other reputable organizations)

4- Would you like more information about opportunities to PRAY?
(specific prayer requests from overseas)

5- How many blogs would you like per week?

6- Do you like reading our “Friday Updates” or should we stop doing them?

7- Is there anything else you’d like to see?

If you could take just a couple of minutes to leave your feedback in a comment, I would really appreciate it! I can’t promise I can make every change, at least not immediately, but it will at least give me some direction. Thanks SO much for reading! MUCH LOVE to you all!!! 🙂

  1. I like the Friday updates! I think the “vulnerability” is good. I’m not a huge fan of everyone posting everyone else’s “moving stories” blogs, but that could be because I check all the blogs… 2-3 blogs a week I think is plenty (including Friday update). Hope this helps!

  2. 1. sure, as God leads 2. YES, I think it can benefit lots of people 3. ? I know of a lot but can always bring them before the Lord 4. sure, prayer is a powerful thing..it’s great to hear updates to on how God’s moving in a request 5. ? 2-3 6. 7. I think your posts are good, especially appreciate you sharing your heart!
You mentioned God using others’ blogs in your life to spur you on to missions. He has used yours in my life in that way! I’m currently raising my support to return to Swaziland long-term, at least 2 yrs w/ AG World Missions. God bless you!

  3. I love the Friday blogs. That way, you only have to do them once a week and that gives you more time for your support work or thank you writing. Then, you could do any of the above in the Friday blog. I think that you should talk about whatever God puts on your heart…it is amazing how God works through that. Britt and I are reading Judges while he is away. During our Sunday School discussions, it is so awesome how something that I have read in Judges, ties into the New Testiment things we are disscussing! Keep up what you are doing…God is using it.
    Love you Baby girl…be safe!

  4. Hello!!
I think you should keep the friday updates, they are great! I think you should include all the above. Every week have prayer needs! Some weeks you might talk about overseas and some weeks you might talk about your own struggles! I do not think you should just concentrate on just one thing! Write as the Lord leads!! Be open to flexibility!!!!

    I love the blogs!

  5. I love Friday updates! And I think 2 or so blogs a week is a good number. I am pro vulnerability and prayer requests. Links to others’ moving stories is good, but when I’m reading your blog… I really do it to see what amazing work God is doing in your life opposed to everyone else’s… With that said… What moves you is important also to me! You do a great job with the blogs! Just continue your faithful service, sister! Youhave no idea how much God has used your blogs in my life!! Love you!

My answer: What? You’re not already vulnerable????? LOL…girl, this one, no worries! I love reading what you’re going thru and learning….keep it up!

3- Would you like more information about opportunities to GIVE?
My answer: To be honest, no. But I know who to ask, should the opportunity come up!

4- Would you like more information about opportunities to PRAY?
My answer: Yes, especially in the cases of urgent needs.

5- How many blogs would you like per week?
My answer: I think you’re doing really well with what you’re doing now!

6- Do you like reading our “Friday Updates” or should we stop doing them?
My answer: Please, please, please let me encourage you to keep this one going!!!!!!! YES, YES, and YES!!!!!!

My answer: LOL….not that I can think of!

Praying for you guys….love ya!!!!! Miss ya….and keep warm up there!

  7. Love the Friday updates. I’ve come to expect those and look forward to them each week because I love seeing what you two have been up to. As mom I’d love to see those everyday, but that would probably be a little too much for everyboyd else LOL! You do what God leads you to do…don’t put God in a box…whether it’s once a week or two or three times…let God lead and speak through you. Your dad has used two of your recent stories in Sunday School class for the last two weeks… Hope was born in White Chocolate and the one about Caroline. It’s amazing to see how each tied in with the Sunday School lesson each week…God’s timing is PERFECT as always! Keep doing what you’re doing. Love you BUNCHES, Mom
