Do you DARE?

Do you DARE sell everything you have- your car, your home, your possessions- to follow Him?
Mark 10:21
Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Do you DARE leave behind your family, friends, and life for His sake?
Matthew 19:29
“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.”


Do you DARE to love Him more?
Matthew 10:37-38
“Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.”

Do you DARE to seek Him, with your whole heart?
1 Chronicles 22:19
“Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the LORD your God…”

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

“Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. Selah”

Do you DARE to love?

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
To use your gifts?
1 Peter 4:10
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”
To live in community?
1 Peter 3:8
“Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.”
To lay down your life?
John 15:13
“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”

Do you DARE give up EVERYTHING?
Luke 14:33
“In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.”

Do you DARE to take AUTHORITY?
Matthew 10:1
“He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.”

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”

Do you DARE to do right?
Isaiah 1:17
“Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.”

Do you DARE to preach, to heal, to drive out demons?
Do you dare to give yourself away?
Matthew 10:7-8
“As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

Do you DARE to lose your life?
Matthew 10:39
“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”

Do you DARE deny yourself?
Do you DARE follow HIM?
Matthew 16:24
“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

Twenty-six men and women just said yes. They quit jobs, sold cars, and packed one backpack. They said goodbye to the luxuries of American life – the food, the hot showers, the warm beds… the security, the safety, the comfort. They hugged their friends and family one last time for 11 months. They walked away from everything familiar. They turned their backs on their lives here, and they said goodbye. They cried. They laughed. They felt a million different emotions.

And then, they left to follow Him.

They’re following Him for 11 months around the world. Right now, they’re on a plane to Peru to serve victims of an earthquake that killed hundreds, injured thousands and left even more homeless. It’s only their first stop. They’ll serve in at least 11 different countries this year- encouraging the oppressed, comforting the broken, blessing widows, holding orphans, feeding the hungry, loving the unlovely, and rescuing the perishing. They are going to be the hands and feet of Jesus- to learn to love one another with sacrificial love, and to show that love to the world. They are going with authority and boldness, to claim back the kingdom! They are going to share Christ with a dying world!

It will be hard. They will be broken. They will be wrecked. But God is doing a beautiful work in and through them… all because THEY DARED TO SAY YES.
