My friends David & Rebekah do these fun little things called “Top 8, Bottom 4” that I always get a kick out of, so I thought I’d do my own set for my time in Michigan so far. So, just for fun, here’s my list of the good, the bad, and the ugly that’s happened since I moved up north! Enjoy! πŸ™‚

Top 8

1- Being in the same city as my fiance after being thousands of miles away from each other the past year. If I want to see him, he can be at my house in 10 minutes! PRAISE GOD!!!
2- My really really ridiculously awesome new roommates. Really. They’re great. I love them πŸ™‚
3- My new church. These people are INCREDIBLE!!!
4- My amazing 1920’s house (even though it has some quirks). I get to live here until Rusty and I get married and have to find a place of our own- so I’m enjoying it for the next 2 months.
5- Listening to my roommates Kim and Matt play piano and guitar and sing downstairs. It
echoes through the house and it’s BEAUTIFUL. I’m trying to soak it up
as much as possible before I have to move out.
6- SNOW. I know everyone will think I’m crazy, and yes it’s COLD, but I still think it’s sparkly and magical and beautiful!
7- I FOUND SWEET TEA!!! Yes, in the North! There’s a Cracker Barrel just a few miles away. I almost hugged our waiter when he told me they served sweet tea! (and it’s GREAT!)
8- I can see Canada from my bedroom window. Seriously. I can. It’s right across the river. I could get there in about 5 minutes. I don’t know that it’s necessarily good or bad, but it’s pretty cool! Something about being able to see another country from my house makes me want to put on my little red suit and glasses, pull my hair up and run for Vice President….hmmm πŸ˜‰

Bottom 4

1- Wading through the brown slush in parking lots. GROSS.
2- Walking into a unisex bathroom with a guy using the bathroom 1 foot in front of me. AGH! That was disturbing! Funny- but disturbing. (People, LOCK THE DOOR!!!)
3- Cold showers (the downside to moving into a 1920’s house that’s been vacant for 2 years. Praise GOD we got that fixed recently!)
4- Dependence. Not having a car is… interesting. I’m trying to pretend that Rusty is my chauffeur and he’s “Drivin Miss Daisy”, but I think the new is wearing off πŸ™
