It’s that time again… time for our FRIDAY UPDATE!
You know… that random blog we do each week to update you on what we’ve been up to πŸ˜‰
Check it out below!

Picasso. Okay, maybe it’s more in the ‘paint by number’ category,
but I am loving painting lately! I’m no expert but I really enjoy
seeing something in my mind and then seeing it out on the canvas. Plus,
I LOVE giving personal, meaningful gifts to people. What’s more
personal than a monogram painting?

I did these a couple of weeks ago but couldn’t post pictures
because the Mommy’s hadn’t received them yet. Now I’m happy to share
with you my two latest creations!

This one is for a sweet little girl named Mikayla Grace Rosario.
Mikayla’s mommy is one of our co-workers at AIM. Her color scheme is
pink and chocolate brown, so I put together this monogram for her! I’m
hoping it doesn’t look to ‘babyish’ and can be used in her room as she
grows up πŸ™‚

This one is for a sweet little boy named Zander Gabriel Kelch. His
parents go to church with us, and have two
beautiful little girls. Imagine Daddy’s excitement when he found out
they were having a BOY! Since Tim is a sports fan (he’s on the softball
team with Rusty) I wanted to be sure to carry that over in this piece.

I’m working on another gift for a friend right now in memory of
her Dad who passed away this year. As soon as it’s finished and she’s
received it I’ll be sure to share it! (*note – I’m not planning on pursuing this as a business because, as my parents would say, I already have too many ‘irons in the fire’! haha. My schedule just won’t allow me to do a lot of them. However, if you are interested in ‘ordering one’ feel free to Contact Me. I can be hired to do some here and there as my schedule allows πŸ˜‰

Reading Rainbow. Did you ever watch that show as a kid? I did, and
I have to say I LOVED IT. Reading has always been a big deal to me – I
was in every summer reading program possible growing up! I remember
getting in trouble in Mrs. Hamlin’s 1st grade class for reading my
“Adventures of Barbie” book in my lap (hidden under my desk) in class.
(Imagine THAT! A student getting in trouble for READING?! She was
careful to explain that it was a GOOD thing I was reading, but really
needed to pay attention in Math time. BLAH. Math… who needs it?! πŸ˜‰

As
I got older it got harder to find time to read things I WANTED to read. In high school it was
because of all my AP required reading, in college it was required reading for all my
English Lit classes. Now that I’m done with all that I’m trying to get
back into the habit of reading things I enjoy (and I’m really glad we have a mentor,
Michael Hindes, who encourages us to be reading SOMETHING at ALL
times!)

Right now I’m reading “Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth” by Richard Foster.
I know the title sounds boring – who wants to read about DISCIPLINE?
But really, it’s not at all what you expect! If you want to grow in
your relationship with the Lord and in how you relate to those around
you, I’d encourage you to pick up this book! I am learning so much through it! (Thanks Dawn for the recommendation!)

Right
now Rusty is reading “Spiritual Slavery to Spiritual Sonship” by Jack
Frost. He has been RAVING about it and I can’t wait to start it! It’s
so cool to see God speaking to my husband through a book, and to listen
to ways his heart is changing just by reading it. I LOVE it! I think
we’re going to switch books as soon as we’re done πŸ™‚

Rusty’s 2nd Job. A while back we told you that
Rusty’s started a part time job with our church here doing video work.
He is still really enjoying it and I love seeing people excited about
his pieces. His latest one is here if you want to check it out! We hope you enjoy it, and we hope you have a great weekend!
