Okay, first off, let me apologize for the ‘cliffhanger’ kind of sign off on my last blog (ie- “I’ll tell you tomorrow”, and then I didn’t tell you tomorrow)… SO SORRY! Needless to say, the enemy has still been at work. All the ‘free time’ I thought I would have in Nashville didn’t happen. As a matter of fact, nothing happened quite like I’d planned! It was a busy week with very little down time. I slept very little and ran around a LOT! But overall it was an exciting time and I pray the Lord will bless AIM with fruit from our meetings there.

Why was I in Nashville, you may be asking?
Well, for GMA week of course!

GMA week, for those of you who don’t know is “Gospel Music Association” week. It’s a time when Christian artists come together to celebrate the past year of music, hear what’s new, and spend a lot of time with the press. Lucky for me, AIM decided to sponsor an Artist Symposium, and I was blessed with the opportunity to be our spokesperson for the week!

Our symposium was called:
“Christian Music
Making A Difference Around The Globe”

Overview: From India to Africa to Asia, a candid discussion of how Christian artists are using their platforms to impact culture around the world.

The artists on our panel were:
Steven Curtis Chapman
Rebecca St. James
Phil Stacey (from American Idol)
Alvin Slaughter
Todd Smith (Selah)
Dan Meyers
(moderated by Fox News’ Kelly Wright)

It was such an incredible experience! I got an opportunity to not only meet some artists I really admire, but I also to share with them, and with the audience, who AIM is, what we do, and why we’re passionate about discipleship. I also got to introduce the brand new campaign I’ve been working on called “The Sound of Hope” (more on that tomorrow – I promise!) which was really well received by the audience and the artists.

It was such a blessing to hear these men and women speak out about the causes they are passionate about, and how they’re being the hands and feet of Christ around the world. It was encouraging to see how they have embraced the fame and recognition the world has given them and are now using it to bring glory to God and to do His work on earth!

And I must admit, it was an overwhelming experience to be on stage speaking beside someone like Steven Curtis Chapman (and then to hear him refer to AIM during his talk time! Steven Curtis Chapman, plugging AIM? HOW COOL!) Lord, you never cease to amaze me at the opportunities and blessings you place in my life!

Everyone I met was a blessing, and though my week was stressful and busy, I was encouraged in my time with people who share my passion – to bring HOPE to the hopeless.

We ended the week with a night at the Dove Awards. It was a treat to get all dressed up (that doesn’t happen much when you do mission work 😉 Though we were in the nosebleed section (ha), it was still a blessing to be there and to worship with so many talented people in the Christian music world. Check out my picture gallery for more shots from the week!
