To all my Prayer Warriors –

I just found out a “state of emergency” has been declared in Bangkok, Thailand – which happens to be where Rusty, and World Race coaches Michael and Kathy Hindes are at the moment.

According to Rusty, it’s “no big deal”. However, the news online had a different spin – 1 person killed, 44 injured (some from gunshot wounds),
3 regional airports closed and railways shut down. It seems a group called the People’s Alliance for Democracy is protesting the government. Apparently, there’s also a chance that the water and power supplies could be disrupted due to a union strike.

Thankfully, the World Race squad is already a few hours away on the island of Ko Samet, and Rusty, Kathy, and Michael are headed there right now. They’ll be there for the next few days debriefing. Unfortunately, Rusty will have to return to Bangkok (where all this is happening) for a few days next week.

Please lift up prayers for this situation- that it will come under God’s authority and be handled quickly and without any more violence.  From a logistics standpoint, it could cause problems in the team’s travel plans in-country. From a safety standpoint I think they’ll be fine (since this is anti-Thai government, not anti-Americans), but I can’t help but be scared when I hear about things like this. I do trust God, but having the man I love in the midst of this (along with his coaches and squad, who are dear friends) can still be scary.

I just can’t get over the fact that this sort of thing seems to follow this squad; wow will I be glad when they’re all home! Getting held at gunpoint, motorcycle accidents, sickness, loss of loved ones, and now rioting – enough already! I’m encouraged though by something Michael said just last week: “There is no such thing as unopposed spiritual progress.”  (or, as my Mom says, “If you don’t meet the devil head on, you must be walking the same direction he is!”)  I’m so proud of Rusty and his team for still GOING- despite all they’ve faced- to do what God’s called them to do. I guess they’re a pretty big threat the the enemy, or he wouldn’t be messing with them so much!

Keep fighting E-Squad! Keep bringing Kingdom to earth! We’re behind you!

  1. Father – I pray for the safety of the E-Team. Please protect them physically, spiritually and emotionally. Thank you for allowing them to feel you, Father. Thank you for allowing them to share you. Please keep each team member in good spirits and let them know, through Your love, that we anxiously await their safe return ‘home.’ We ask for these and all other blessings in Your Precious Name, Amen.

  2. All in world race style. These guys are setting a new bar for future teams. LOL. I too believe they will be okay. Blessings.

  3. You are SO RIGHT about meeting the devil face to face…Rusty and his team MUST be doing something right or they wouldn’t be meeting him face to face SO MUCH EACH DAY!! Keep the faith, don’t stop praying and trusting in the One who keeps them safe and remember…”Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints….” Ephesians 6:10-18

It’s my prayer that they’ll all KEEP THAT ARMOR ON…praying too for their safety and that they return home to the wonderful USA REAL SOON!

    Love you BUNCHES!

  4. Baby it’s no big deal:)

But thank you for the blog. What you mean to this squad is priceless. Patrice just said the other day that if it wasn’t for you we would have never made it out of India.

I love you and I’m so thankful for you!
