Each month, I send out an email to a list of people who want to live out James 1:27. It's a way to update them about how to partner with us to care for orphans around the world! Below is the copy from my letter this month, explaining how to help the orphans I fell in love with in India...

The HOPE House

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:

to look after orphans and widows in their distress
and to keep oneself
from being polluted by the world."
James 1:27

During my trip to India, we spent time in three leper colonies, ministering to those cast out from society. We sang over the sick, worshiped with the lepers, and prayed for them. We hugged them, touched them, and showed them the love of Christ in a tangible way. It was life-changing.

We also spent time in three orphanages. Most of my time was spent in the Hope House - the orphanage we partner with at AIM. There I met 23 of the most beautiful children in the world! The precious little girl to the left is one of them, 2 year old Jyoti. Her father abandoned her, and her mother was murdered. Now she lives in the Hope House, where she is lovingly cared for by a Christian "Mom" and "Dad" - Sarah* and Paul*.

The orphans at the Hope House have very little by American standards, but they have great faith in the Lord. The love of Christ is poured into these children, and they know Him as their Father and Provider. They spend an hour every night in prayer, and start every morning with worship songs. Many times throughout the day they would come up to me to recite Bible verses or tell me, "I love Jesus! Jesus is my best friend!" Their faith and trust in the Lord is beautiful

and pure.

Unfortunately, there are many who want to see the Hope House shut down because our children are being taught about Christ. Pastor Paul and his wife Sarah are constantly in fear of the government and pray daily that the orphanage will not be shut down. If that happens, 23 bright, beautiful children with BIG dreams will be thrown back into the streets, the slums, and the brothels.

Right now, the Hope House is struggling to stay open. They pray everyday for God to provide the money they need to pay the bills. They have dreams of buying land to build a bigger orphanage for more children, a school, a rescue house for prostitutes, and a Bible training school. For now though, they just need enough money to pay their monthly bills.

Will you donate today to the Hope House? Maybe you'd like to help with their monthly bills, and ensure that these 23 children are fed, clothed, and cared for this month and for the months to come. Maybe you'd like to give a large gift towards the purchase of the land that will allow them to rescue even more orphans from their hopeless future. If God is calling you to give, please donate today! Click here and choose "India Orphanage" from the drop down menu. You can give HOPE and a FUTURE to children in desperate need!

*Names have been changed to protect our staff and children from religious persecution. Please lift them up in your prayers and pray protection and provision for the Hope House!

Thank you for continuing to live out James 1:27 with me. You're a blessing and an encouragement to our ministry!
