A few months ago I introduced you to the Brown Family, and shared about their journey to China to get their daughter Grace. I updated you the day they got to meet their sweet little girl, and shared pictures of their family united for the first time.
Grace has been home with Scott, Kelley, and Carter for almost two months now, and has been adjusting beautifully! So well, in fact, that they were open to us visiting when we came to Birmingham on our trip down South. I was THRILLED!!!
I spent the days before our trip working on some special gifts for Grace – a little painting for her room, and a hairbow holder for all those pretty bows she wears! Since her mom (Kelley) and I were both local titleholders in the Miss America Organization and Miss Alabama contestants, I thought it was only fitting that Grace have her own little crown 😉
I added these little tassels to give it a hint of Asian influence because
I know Kelley loves incorporating Grace’s culture into her room decor!
of how they prayed for her, searched for her, and waited to make her their daughter!
We had a WONDERFUL visit with the Brown family, and I was absolutely captivated by both their children. Carter has the most adorable head full of curls, and Grace is the cutest little China doll I’ve ever seen!
I was so enamored by them, and enjoying my time talking to Kelley so much, that I only snapped a couple of pictures. (oops!) Still, you can see how cute they are!
It always moves my heart to hear stories of adoption, and to see it firsthand was even more special. It is incredible to see a child who was once forgotten given a family, love, hope, and a future…what a perfect picture of God’s love for us!
Kelley, it was a blessing to spend time with you
and a special treat to meet your beautiful family.
We can’t wait to see you all again!
