Back to the internet cafe for an update (WOW will I be glad to get back to the land of wireless internet!)
Here are just a few pictures – more to come soon!
Me with the street children – they hang out in the street where we live (in the slums) to give us hugs and shake our hands every morning and afternoon. They are so hungry for attention…
Me with half of the team – they will be staying behind to serve in India for the next 3 months! What amazing girls!
I have quite a few video blogs I’m working on – some serious ones that show the ministry we’re doing, some that show our crazy adventures (like getting lost in India), and one rather funny one introducing Lynette (yes Adam, “the princess” is on mission with “the diva” and I have some pretty amusing footage for you all, HA!). Tomorrow is ministry prep day for the team, so I’ll be working on video editing, writing, journaling, and also preparation for the week.
I’ll be spending 2 days next week at our main orphanage, spending time with the children, taking photographs of each child, and writing down their stories and personal information in hopes of finding them long-term sponsors. I’m so excited about that – this will be a big undertaking but I know God has placed me here to get it done before I leave! There are 21 children in all, so please pray God will raise up supporters for each of them. I have already committed to supporting a beautiful little girl named Jyoti. She’s 2 years old, and I can’t wait to show you pictures and share her story with you! Pray that God blesses my time with Jyoti and that He begins binding our hearts together. Pray also for my time with the children and the staff, that He will help me hear their stories and share them with the world!
Thank you for all the comments (you know how much I love them) and most of all for praying all the requests I listed yesterday! I was feeling terrible by bedtime last night – my cough was getting worse and my throat felt like it was on fire. Then this morning I woke up to no more sore throat and barely any cough left – PRAISE THE LORD! THANK YOU FOR PRAYING! Please keep your prayers coming – I can’t express how evident your prayers are to all of us here. Please pray specifically for all our health – Chris and Tom aren’t feeling well today (Chris thinks he has a sinus infection, Tom has chills) Lynette is feeling flushed, and some of the team is starting to feel sick too. We crave your prayers!
There is so much more to share that I hope to sort through tomorrow. For now, here are a couple of video blogs from my first night and day in India!
*Because of the lack of technology in this internet cafe, I could load my videos to VIMEO but not to my blog (go figure). Sooo… if you want to see the latest 2, visit these links:
The 2 newest videos are “India – night 1” and “Good morning India”. Enjoy!
thanks for the update, Ericka. Praise God for healing the throat! Love those kiddos well for us.
Hey chick! Glad to see all is going well and you are there safe and sound and feeling better. Please tell all the girls I said hello and that I miss them. I am praying for you and cant wait for all that God is going to do.
Love You!

Good to see your face on the videos! Praying for you and your ministry. Love and miss you from GA!
It was so WONDERFUL to get to talk to you yesterday…even if it was very brief! I was worried about your sore throat but I prayed all day that God would take away the pain and the cruddy cough and yet again HE DID! What an AWESOME God we serve – who has time for even our smallest of needs! I know a sore throat is minor compared to the other major needs there, but He’s going to work amazing miracles in that place if you’ll just continue to follow His leadership each day. Keep the faith…continue on…can’t wait to see what else God has in store. Love you Bunches ~ Mom
God is SO GOOD! I’m happy to hear that you are well. We love you! We’re praying for you. I know God is working wonderful miracles through your beautiful life and service. Hug those sweet children for me! Stay safe!
Woohoo!!! Love you friend! Staying in prayer!
So glad to hear you are doing well and touching the lives of such precious children. Continually praying….
What a wonderful praise to the Lord to heal you and so quickly. Praying you will stay well and for the others to get well as quickly as you did. Your still pictures say so much, but the video really brings you right where you are. Great job, but oh to see those poor, needy children and families.
Praying for you, your team and your ministries.
Let the stalking begin!!! I am so glad you made it. Sorry to hear that you were sick but celebrating your recovery. I haven’t had a chance to properly stalk you but I will rectify the situation tomorrow! Love you! Do your thing with the Lord girl. Stalk at you later.

Hey Erika!!
I’ve been keeping up with your blog and the sweet film footage you’ve been sending our way. I’m blown away by what I’ve seen so far. The video showing your home reminds me so much of Senya in Ghana, Africa.
I just wanted you to know that I’ll be praying for you and especially your health (and the team!) I had a sever virus/sinus infection when I was abroad last and it’s never good to have a cold when all you want to do is hug on those kids!
I am eager to see what God is going to work in you and through you during your stay in India.
Take care and I’ll be praying!!!

I gotta a chance to see the videos they were great. Funny, I would think India was hot too?! Anyway, It was good to see you face and hear your voice. Consider yourself properly stalked. Much love
Praying for you!!
